The Demise of The King of Pop
Saturday, June 27, 2009
My day started on a bad note. Heard from my cousin early in the morning that my favorite and the hottest pop star of all times was no more, leaving me dumbstruck for a while.
As a child I was fascinated by the magician's dance movements, his moonwalking in particular, and his ability to sing while dancing.
I researched a lot about this crazy and enigmatic personality while writing a case study - Michael Jackson, The Rise and Fall of the King of Pop - for my employer.
That's when I got to know about the Wacko Jacko's iconic and demi-god status and fall from grace.
The frantic US media has to be blamed for nearly 80% of his fate, my research said.
Leaving aside the nonsense spread by the media and people about him, Michael Jackson will remain the world's best pop singer and the greatest entertainer ever, at least on my chart busters.
The last five to six years had been very difficult for Michael, and was surrounded with myriad problems.
His death frees him from all the controversies, including the US media, once and for all.
May his soul rest in peace.

Bad Time

Last couple of months have been very bad for me. Starting with the death of my friend's mother with some strange disease and still counting, I fear what's in store for me. My friend's mother came back from Mumbai and fell ill, and even after 12 days of intensive treatment, she passed away.
Then it was my grandmother, who was down with weakness and fever for about one week. I had a miserable time handling her and my office work. Then happened the twin bomb blasts which took away about 40 lives. This was followed by hospitalization of my colleague's father for about a week. This was followed by crumbling of the Punjagutta flyover.
On 15th of this month my close friend's sister died due to Dengue fever. She was doing her house surgeon (homeopathy) and wanted to serve the needy. But the person above us had other plans for her. He made her battle for life for 14 days before granting her eternal peace. My friend was in France doing his Ph.D and had to rush to India to have the last look. God is cruel sometimes.
I wonder why some people battle hard before dying while some others have sudden and peaceful death? What governs our death style? Is it our own mistakes or mistakes done by the family members?
Hope the bad days end this moment!
