January 26th and August 15th are two big national festivals and most people will make it a point that they at least salute the National Flag. But, by the time yours truly wakes up, it will be about 11:00 am and by the time he completes his daily rituals it will be about 1:00 pm.
Life has changed for me after my school days where I used to lead the group doing the Republic day/ Independence day honors. Since then, I never visited even my nearest flag hoisting point. There must be quite a few people who are in the same situation I am in. But I sincerely believe that this doesn't put me under the unpatriotic citizen category.

Yes, Vinay! These days, lives have become more complex for many of us. Even I used to participate in many of the events, which would take place on these national festivals in school. Moreover,I used to enjoy the attention from students and teachers as one of these days is my birthday. Now, I look forward to memorize those days when my kid participates in the celebrations of these festivals, and I will definitely make it a point that he should not miss saluting the flag on these days. BTW, tomorrow I am going to send him to the school, and I may also salute the flag.

Though our lives have become too busy, till now I am getting the opportunity to attend such great occasions and celebrate with all the children in the school. :)

good that you are still visiting your school. Even I try to do it but it's not happening. No problem! I will start attending these national festivals when my kid(s) join the school.
