Uh! It's over finally

The long wait is over at last.

Chakravaakam, the prosaic, incessant and wild Telugu daily serial, was finally over after showing the final episode on last Friday, but was not before it had completed 1000 odd episodes and teased and tormented me for about two years. I believe there are many people who share the same experience.

The serial started on a high note in 2005 and the channel (Gemini TV) shifted it to prime slot of 8:30-9:00 pm from the afternoon slot. It was so popular that 9 out of 10 houses would watch the show. And as the days progressed, the serial too had become like any other serial with the plot going haywire. A lot of new characters were introduced just to prolong the story and the original characters were sidelined (a la Chandrakanta).

As I have been staying with my grand parents since the fag end of 2005, my dinner time is between 8:15-9:00 pm and my dining table and the television share the same room, I had no option but to watch the mega serial. I couldn't change my dinner timings as I come home from office between 8 and 8:30 pm and I cannot control my hunger.

Though my grandparents hated the serial being dragged and there were good shows being aired on other channels, they still watched it just out of curiosity. It had become a daily activity for them. They would sit before the idiot box by 8:30 and don't even bother to postpone their dinner or talking to visitors.

The funniest part is that there are blogs, videos and forums talking about the show.

Now that it is over, I am hoping that some comedy series or something which would bring smile to our faces would appear during that slot.

All the best.

Haha. I think you had a very great experience. By the time the serial 'Chakravakam' has come to climax, most of the fans were eagerly waiting for the following serial. This shows that there are very good number of fans who are fond of Gemini serials (family drama).

Really, i had a torrid time during my dinner. Most of the fans are grand parents and house wives who ignore even their loved ones for the sake of serials. That is why I call them serial killers.

Bienvenido!
