Here Comes the Savior of the Poor and the Downtrodden

Don't mistake the post to be about super humans (Spiderman, Batman or Superman), who put on trousers before briefs. This is about the new savior of the poor, needy, backward and handicapped people in Andhra Pradesh. Ladies and Gentlemen, please stand and welcome Mr. Manda Krishna Madiga, leader of MRPS (Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti), an association of people belonging to Madiga caste, termed as scheduled caste.

I don't know what's gone wrong with this bloke of late, but his name is being heard everywhere for all the wrong reasons. All the weaker sections, including physically handicapped have suddenly become his darlings and he is seen attacking and passing scathing remarks on everyone to please his new found love.

He first started with an assault on Andhra Jyoti, a Telugu daily, which ran a story heavily criticizing the leaders of caste-based political parties and associations. He damaged the newspaper's assets in Hyderabad, filed a case against the editor and 100 staff reporters, and even got them arrested. Though Mr.Krishna publicly claimed responsibility for the attack, no action was taken against him by the police or the government.

Now he has donned a new role as the unofficial censor board member for Telugu films.

He objected to a scene in the film Kantri where Dr.Ambedkar's statue is shown in the title song and at a place from where the villain operates. He demanded the film makers to remove those shots and sought an unconditional apology from NTR (the film's hero and the Kantri team). His contention was that by showing Ambedkar's statue, the film makers have humiliated dalits and portrayed them as perpetrators. Finally, the scenes were removed.

2. In the recently released fully sentimental Telugu movie Gorintaaku (meaning Henna in Telugu. For more details about the film, please visit my second last post),there is a scene where the hero asks the heroine whether she would marry a physically handicapped person if her brother wants her to. I think the scene can be imagined by any lay man. Mr. Krishna stated that such statements would hurt PH and wanted the scenes to be removed asap. I agree, such dialogs would hurt the PH, but the situation demands such dialogs and a lot of films has had scenes that made fun of PH. Where were you then Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyy Krishna!

The funniest part is that the film is termed a big dud. The producers and the hero Rajashekhar, who is planning to launch his political career, are not seen anywhere. Now with his allegations, Mr. Krishna has rubbed salt on wound.

I doubt whether Mr. Krishna is planning to launch his film career. Please suggest him a suitable role - director, producer or Protagonist. Or is he trying to don a few avatars like Lord Krishna?

Finally, if any of his supporters happens to go through this post, I might be their next target.
